Hello fanworker!
I go by Brachylagus_fandom on AO3. I'm currently caught up to the anime and LA both. All requests are for fic & art. Treats welcome and enabled!

DNWs: gore, animal cruelty, major character death, character bashing

Additional Tags I'm Requesting Across Requests
And here is the total list of additional tags I grabbed from the tagset before realizing that it contained over a hundred of them. I love all of these things, and would be happy to see any of them in my gift.

Hello worldbuilder!

Worldbuilding is one of my absolute favorite topics, and I'm excited to see what you create for me. I've provided prompts below, but if you feel inspiration taking you in a different direction, please go with it; I'm sure it will be fascinating.

I go by Brachylagus_fandom on AO3. I have requested fic, art, and in-universe meta for all requests, and I've also requested Any or No Characters and Original Characters for all requests. I am open to treats!

Do Not Wants: explicit sex or gore (fade to black okay), animal cruelty

Likes:

  • Characters being competent in their area of expertise
  • Outsider POV
  • Missing scenes and alternate perspectives
  • Crack, particularly crack treated seriously
  • Mystery/intrigue, casefic
  • Hurt/comfort
  • Fluff
  • Hijinks
  • Music

Worldbuilding-Specific Likes:

  • Logistics - how does stuff get made? How is it moved?
  • History and its relation to the present
  • Period-appropriate details, esp. in clothing
  • Science and scientific approaches to magic
  • Things that did happen in canon but were only referenced
  • Tech - what's standard, what's cutting edge, how it works. Blueprints always welcome.
  • Cultural attitudes around queerness, race, education, or any other issue, and how they differ by region/class/etc.

Art Likes:

  • Vivid colors, or colors used to emphasize parts of the piece
  • I love really bold lines and really soft ones, really realistic drawings as well as really stylized ones
  • Basically the art equivalent of pastiche - stuff meant to look like canonical drawings or specific periods/styles (e.g., your fave in medieval tapestry)
  • Overlap with In-Universe Meta! In-universe technical drawings/propaganda posters, sketches done by characters

In-Universe Meta Likes:

  • Bureaucracy/paperwork
  • Descriptions of canon events from dramatically different perspective
  • Noodle incidents, either explained or created by the meta

One Piece (Anime & Manga)

Any or No Characters, Original Character(s)

  • Climate Science of One Piece - Specifically of the Grand Line, because it's so weird. Do experts use the spring/summer/autumn/winter island terminology, or do they divide island climates differently (and if so how)? What are the theories of how Grand Line weather works, and are there methods for predicting it in any meaningful sense or at any meaningful timescale? What are the folks up on Weatheria studying, and how?
  • Study of Devil Fruits - how common is the logia/zoan/paramecia divide across cultures/history, and what are other systems for categorizing devil fruits? How were devil fruit dictionaries like the one the Vinsmokes had created and verified, and how accurate are they? What are some theories about how devil fruits work, and how has support of them changed or shifted over time?
  • The Period Immediately After Roger's Death - A very hectic time! What was this start of the great pirate era like for the pre-existing pirate crew, the marine, the civilian? How well-known was the hunt for Roger's child among the general public at the time, and why were the Marines so determined to find him? (Was this meant as a distraction from other things happening at the time?) How did the culture and practice of piracy change in the aftermath of Roger's death, and what of it stayed the same?

The 39 Clues - Various Authors

Any or No Characters, Original Character(s)

  • Branch culture - I'd love a deeper look into how the branches work. What social roles do the branches play, and how has that evolved over time? Does it vary substantially from place to place (or big office to small office) or is being an active Tomas agent similar basically regardless of where you are? What are branch politics like? How does being an active member affect your family relationships and relationships outside the branch; is there pressure to engage with the branch exclusively? How does this differ between branches and over time?
  • Cahill History - In the series, basically every major event in the past 500 years has been tied to the Cahhils somehow. I'd love to see an exploration of an event not covered by the books - or intra- and inter-branch squabbles that haven't made the history books! The early years and first couple generations of the branches must've been extremely rocky, with a lot of the things modern Cahills treat as standard not in place yet, and that would be interesting to explore. The early years of Madeleine's adventures as the first Madrigal could be super fun. Or the previous attempts at unification seen in Into the Gauntlet!
  • Technology - I love all the weird tech in the series, and I'd love to see more of it. Development, use reports in the field, various characters' opinions on the latest card-worthy invention… all of it, please.
  • The Serum - Speaking of tech, the original Cahill one! How did Gideon create it and source his ingredients? How did Olivia source the ingredients for the counter-serum after his death? How have various people attempted to reconstruct either serum since? How does it work? Is there a reliable way to test for it (as a proxy for what branch someone belongs to), and, if so, how does that work?
  • The Vespers - How are they structured, and how has that changed over the years? (I'd love to see the org chart.) What are the organization's overall goals? How are the members recruited? Based on Sinead, there's a certain amount of grabbing revenge-seeking Cahills, but there's also some family recruitment if V1 and Arthur Trent are anything to go by. (I would also love to see what's up with the Trents specifically, and how they fit into this mess.) How did the various Vespers in canon come into contact with the organization?

FAQ: The "Snake Fight" Portion of Your Thesis Defense - Luke Burns

Any or No Characters, Original Character(s)

  • Facilities’ care and feeding between snake fights - whose job is it, exactly, to care for the snakes? Do these fall to the groundskeepers of the university, or is it managed by each individual department to feed their own snakes, or something else? (For example, my alma mater's live mascot is an animal of the appropriate species in the local zoo; are the thesis snakes maybe selected from zoos near the university, where they normally reside and are cared for, and if so what sort of consultation is needed with the zookeepers to remove them from their habitats?) Are the snakes on public display outside of defense season, or are they only for viewing during defenses?
  • History and development of tradition of snake fighting in academia - when did the snake fight portion come about? Was this something that happened to one poor guy on accident that he then decided to inflict on his grad students when the time came? Are there different philosophies of snake fighting as thesis defense based on institution or field?

Hunger Games Series - All Media Types

Any or No Characters, Original Character(s), Beetee Latier, Finnick Odair, Haymitch Abernathy, Lyme, Mags, Wiress

  • Career Training - How does it differ between the Career districts? Is it purely physical training or is there also camera training/interview prep/etc.? What ages of kids are trained, and how are they selected? Is there some sort of application process, and if so what's that like? Do the kids have to pay for their own training, or is it subsidized by the District? What is the social life of kids in training like; do they interact with their non-Career friends at all? What is the general perception of the (ex-)Careers among non-Career parts of the Districts? What happens to kids in Career training who don't volunteer?
  • Coordinating the Rebellion Across the Districts - how is intel transmitted between districts? Are most actions planned centrally, or do districts strike out on their own? How does this change during the 74th/75th games? How does the war make coordination easier/harder?
  • Past Hunger Games - I'd love to see any previous Games, from either in or outside the arena. (For something I don't think I've seen much of, the first Quarter Quell, and how selecting the tributes changes the experience, for those reaped/watching in real time/watching the recap later on.)
  • Evolution of the games in history - how have the Games shifted over the years? Which elements were introduced later, and how did those introductions go? Have things like the tribute parade or interviews taken different shapes as the Games progressed? Are there "trends" for aspects of the arena (biome, weapons availability, "narrative" for lack of a better term of what the gamemakers intend to be the major elements of the games)?
  • Game design for any year of the hunger games - Who gets to design the arena, and what sort of Gamemaker politics go into who gets chosen (and who gets to control which areas of the arena)? How does a theme/biome get chosen; are there any restrictions on what Gamemakers can choose? Are the arenas finalized on the first day of the games, or do the Gamemakers shift the terrain/threats based on audience or tributes' reactions? (E.g., adding additional poisonous plants/venomous mutts if the tributes are suspicious of totally legit plants, or if a tribute's death to poison is particularly popular.) How long does it take to put an arena together? What are some famous (or infamous) arenas?
  • Mentor's work during the Hunger Games - How are sponsorships tallied and earned? How does mentoring strategy differ between different mentors/districts; are there different schools of thought on getting tributes through? Have there been mismatches between a tribute's strategy and what the mentor believes the strategy is (and thus were trying to support)? What tasks do mentors have after their tributes die?
  • Victors and their relationship to their home districts - Haymitch's relationship with District 12 appears to be rather fraught; is this typical for victors? How does the reaction change based on the victor's relationships within their district prior to their victory/remaining ties they have to general district culture, the victor's personality/reputation, and the district? Are Career victors more accepted because training to win (and winning) the games are more normalized, or more isolated because they don't necessarily need to interact with non-victors as often (since there are more victors to socialize with)?
  • Victors and their relationship with their fans - Do some victors deliberately court a fanbase, in order to get more supplies for their tributes? Do some shy away from the attention (and does this help at all)? How much of it is purely transactional on the victor's side, versus a feeling of reciprocity or even friendship? What does victor fandom look like outside of the Games? What generates a victor a particularly notable fanbase?

Murdle Series - G. T. Karber

Any or No Characters, Original Character(s), Deductive Logico, Inspector Irratino

  • Murdle Investigatory Methods/Forensics - I'd love to see how the investigatory work behind a murdle case works. Are Logico and Irratino handling the evidence, or are their specialists who determine whether the weapon contained a live animal?
  • Murdle Legal System - Why do murdlers only get a week in the rich people prison (if that)? For that matter, how does Irratino fake his death in the prison every week? And why is a lawyer considered a bludgeoning weapon and not a suspect? How are Marot readings or logic puzzles treated in court?

Leverage (US TV 2008)

Any or No Characters, Original Character(s)

  • How the Leverage Team finds clients - What kind of process do they use? Discreet ads, some sort of referral service from people they trust, lurking on forums, some combination of the above, something else entirely? How has it changed from the beginning of the original run to Leverage: Redemption?
  • Leverage International - I'd love to see how any of the other Leverage teams work. How were their members recruited? What's their group dynamic like? Do the cases they take on differ from the original crew? Do any former clients/allies of Leverage get involved with the international teams, and does the original team ever (intentionally or initially accidentally) step in?

Hello Shannon (and others)! My AO3 is Brachylagus_fandom, and my discord is tiredandcold. Feel free to trawl through my old letters here for more of my likes, as well as my AO3 and tumblr (brachylagus-fandom). Anything I posted in the server is also fair game.

For AUs, I'm down for receiving the One More Time 'verse or Marianne-based AUs, and I'd also love to see your take on my Havenite treecats AU if you so choose.

DNWs: explicit sex (fade to black fine), gore/graphic injury, major character death, completely unhappy endings, setting change AUs like a modern au (canon divergences or canon but with additional stuff, like soulmates, tacked on, is great!)

Likes: my likes are broad and ever-expanding. Just because something's not on the list doesn't mean I won't enjoy it; so long as it's not under my DNWs, I'm totally down for it to happen.
  • Hurt/Comfort
  • Humor, crack treated seriously
  • Hijinks and misadventures
  • Mystery
  • Character study - how did [X] get to be this way? What is their normal day like?
  • Worldbuilding - how does [thing] work? Why does it work like that? How has that changed over the years? What are the logistics involved?
  • Canon Divergence, especially of the "butterfly flaps its wings" sort
  • Outsider POV - I love when canon/the reader takes a bunch of things for granted because the protagonist knows them, but if you take a step sideways everyone not in the know is going "wtf"
  • Complicated, intense relationships
  • Characters being competent in their area of expertise
  • Playing with tropes or implications of canon
  • All sorts of "weird" stylistic choices - flowery prose, first or second person POV, non-past tense, etc.
Manticore
Michelle Henke
  • I really love Mike as a character; her confidence counterbalances Honor's anxiety very well.
  • I'd love to see her building that relationship during their time in the Academy (buzzing the regatta!), or her various adventures as an officer since. How does she hear about Honor's latest misadventures, and what does she think of them?
  • It's mentioned that a royal serving in the Navy is relatively atypical, and she's almost as close to the throne as Michael is; how does she deal with the same pressures of external rank? Do they ever bond over it?
  • Paul's her (somewhat distant) relative, and she got both sides of the Paul/Honor Pavel-induced awkwardness and then equally awkward pining. How does she build the bridge between them without betraying their respective confidences? What's it like for her in the aftermath of the duel?

Haven
Haven is pretty underexplored as a setting in its own right, especially in the early books. I'd love to see more exploration of any era of it, from the Legislaturists (the formulation of a lot of these people's ethos and identities, and also very much the building block of what's to come in terms of interstellar policy and political repression) to the Committee (so many conflicting personae and loyalties! so many internal factions obviously or subtly positioning for power) to the post-Theisman-coup period. (Though especially the early days of that last one, when a considerable amount of the capital city's infrastructure is a smoking, radioactive wreck and we've got a six-way civil war on our hands. And we get a stable democracy out of it in pretty short order!)

Victor Cachat
  • Cachat is a human embodiment of "refuge in audacity", and I love that about him. Even if the rest of my faves really, really don't.
  • I'd love to see his childhood and training at the StateSec academy, how his skills as a slum kid transferred over to his work as an agent, and how he still didn't really grasp the full nature of the job until From the Highlands.
  • The period between the end of From the Highlands and the start of Fanatic, aka how the murder baby gets radicalized. How long is he on Earth after the Manpower plot gets foiled? What does he learn over that year-ish between saving Helen and ending up in La Martine?
  • I'd love to see more of Victor's relationship with the Ushers, either pre-Coup or after they come to get him from La Martine.
  • What is his life on Torch like, and what was the process of establishing the kingdom like?

Shannon Foraker
  • I love Shannon! Her tech skills, her lack of social graces, her determination to do what she thinks is right - it's all catnip to me.
  • I'd love to see the process of her growing up and gaining those skills (particularly if she isn't Nouveau Parisian - it feels like all the Havenites come from that city, and it could be interesting to see how coming from a non-Haven Havenite world impacted her childhood and experience in the Navy). What other things did she learn during that period, and what did she have to circumvent to learn them?
  • I'd also love to see more times when she used them, or a deeper look at the times we see her tech wizardry on page.
  • It'd be great to see her growth post-coup, as she rapidly takes on a bunch of responsibility with Bolthole. (And, as a result, gets a full-time minder in the form of a steward; a day in the life of that poor sucker would be hilarious.)
Eloise Pritchart
  • I like how Pritchart is fiercely principled and dedicated to her cause, even when she appears to have outlasted it.
  • I'd love to see her as Brigade Commander Delta (or working her way up to that position), or in the short period immediately after the Harris assassination, where she's not exactly commanding a brigade but not yet a commissioner, and it looks like everything might just work out for the revolution. (And then dealing with it when things do not just work out.) What happens to the people under her command, in the aftermath? Does she fully know, or does she find herself checking the ex-Hades lists to see what might have become of some of her old problem children?
  • I'd also love to see more of her as a Citizen Commissioner, slowly building up a rapport with Giscard and then conspiring with him to get what they want from the Committee. (And how that reputation backfires a little bit, in the immediate post-oops period when I have to imagine that the plan, should any plan exist, was to run like hell and beg for asylum somewhere.)
  • It would also be excellent to see her as President of Haven, trying to rebuild her country and dealing with the responsibilities. (I headcanon that she's got a decent amount of civilian support - if she saw the Committee coming it's reasonable she warned her people to keep their heads down, so her faction of the Aprillists is probably pretty strong in any modern movement, and we know that Ninon Bourchier, who Pritchart personally recruited, was one of the early post-coup civilian leaders - and that's why Theisman picks her at first, but I'd love to see how that conversation went. Especially since Theisman didn't know her beforehand!)

Thomas Theisman
  • I really enjoy the way he and Honor are foils to each other - both with strong moral compasses and senses of duty, but while Honor is often able to push past her duties to do the right thing, Theisman doesn't really have that ability until "Good-bye, Citizen Chairman". (And then he does, and he makes very strong use of it.)
  • I'd love to see Theisman's path to joining the Navy, especially as a Dolist in a time when Navy officerships were heavily associated with Legislaturists. Why did he make that choice? What was his childhood like before then, and what was his time in training like? What was the worst drunken night he has ever had (and why does it top "accidentally signing your maybe-friend's death warrant")?
  • I'd love to see him planning out the coup, and trying to rebuild a government in the image of some long-ago ideal in the aftermath. What do the initial weeks of the republic look like, and what about the longer-term civil wars?
  • I'd also love to see him as an officer, before, during, or after his meetings with Honor. How did life shipboard practically change post-Harris assination?

Lester Tourville
  • Citizen Admiral Cowboy! I have a soft spot for characters putting on a front to distract from their true emotions/thoughts, and Tourville does it outrageously.
  • When did he first starting putting on that facade, and how has it shifted over the years? I have to assume it's based on something he had, if probably exaggerated since, back during the Legislaturists, but to what extent and why did he create it in the first place? What are some times it came extremely in handy, and what does stepping back from it feel like?

Grayson
Warner Caslet
  • Filed here for his current star nation, but going first in part because a lot of what I like about him comes from his Havenite years, as a deeply pragmatic leader trying to keep his people safe and do the right thing in a politically fraught environment.
  • I'd love to see more of Vaubon's crew, both before and in the aftermath of the Harris Assassination. How does the crew's dynamic shift as the political situation does back home? (Especially since it's more or less the crew from before the Committee to at least Third Yeltsin and probably up through the Silesian campaign.) How does his relationship with Shannon change, especially with her status as politically unreliable? (And how does his estimation of her skill increase, especially since the post-Harris Assassination period is one where Haven is extremely strapped for working equipment and crew?)
  • Another interesting relationship to explore: his with Citizen Commissioner Jourdain! It's not as actively rebellious as some of the other commissioner/captain pairs we get (...mostly because they get split up - and Caslet is already defected - by the time coup attempt 2 rolls around), but there's definitely the seeds of something like Tourville's camraderie with Honeker in Honor Among Enemies. Had they had more time pre-reassignment, how would their relationship continued to change? What's Jourdain's impression of Caslet post-defection?
  • I think that Caslet is the only major Havenite character who explicitly isn't from the planet of Haven itself, and I'd love to see how that impacts his perspective and relationships. Is there a form of snobbery towards those from Haven's other planets, or mistrust because of potential lingering resentments over those planets' "acquisition"? (I think Danville was one of the pre-conquest worlds, so not necessarily relevant here, but Haven has plenty of homegrown resistance movements in addition to the ones on planets it's conquered.) Alternately, is there an additional sense of camraderie between those who aren't from the capital planet? What kind of culture shocks were involved when he first went to Nouveau Paris to join the Naval Academy?
  • What is the defection process like once Caslet's in Grayson space? He's not the only ex-Havenite they've got, but Grayson's changed a lot since Yu defected, and Caslet's also returning with a pretty badly mauled Honor. (Objectively silly idea: before he's fully debriefed, he's teaching at the Grayson naval academy in between GONI debriefs, and the notion of someone who fits into the slot of The Grayson Ideal of Authority Holder - possessing command, male, deeply honorable, with enough age to confer authority on its own, did I mention male - just... completely alien to Grayson gender politics breaks a couple brains. Because while Manticorans also hold no time for this bullshit, the penetration of that ideal into some steadings is... slow, and I imagine that a lot of the rough awakenings for those home-trained officers comes once they get into service.)
  • What's his life like on Grayson more generally?
  • What's it like once the Grand Alliance forms and Caslet's working with a lot of the same people again?

Abigail Hearns
  • I love Abigail as a manifestation of how Honor has shaped Grayson.
  • What was Abigail's life like before Second Yeltsin, and how did her idolization of Honor (and desire to join the Navy like her) manifest over the years? How did that conversation in the aftermath of Honor's "death" go?
  • I'd love to hear more about her time at Saganami Island. How was she regarded by her Manticoran peers (who don't really have the context for why her presence is a Big Deal) - and by her Grayson ones? As of Obligated Service, there are a handful of other Grayson women in uniform; what was Abigail's relationship with them like?

Rachel Mayhew
  • All of the Mayhew daughters are so cute, and I love seeing them grow up throughout the course of the series.
  • What's Rachel's childhood like? What things is she expected to do, and what things does she enjoy doing? What does Rachel remember of Grayson pre-Honor (and of her first, disastrous visit to the Protector's home)? How aware is she of the changes to society around her as she's growing up, and how does she push for more changes herself?
  • Allison's talk with the Mayhew parents after Rachel's adoption is one of my favorite bits of that whole sequence because it really highlights the way that treecats change their human's life - and not always in ways the people around them find easy to handle. I'd love to see any of the things Allison mentioned come into play as Rachel grows up, but I'd also love a look into the things Allison didn't bring up, because Honor's experience gaining a bond as a single child in a society acclimated to treecats doesn't map cleanly onto Rachel's experience as one of several children on a planet that isn't. Does jealousy from her sisters come into play? What problems and/or social upheavals arise when a Grayson princess wants to bring an adorable, furry death machine everywhere she goes? I know Honor has some armor in much of her clothes to make Nimitz hopping on safer and easier; does Rachel spark a trend for Grayson tabards to incorporate such a material (perhaps after a scandalous new trend among The Youths to have slashes in the shoulders of one's gown)?

Hello Gift-In-A-Boxer!

I go by Brachylagus_fandom over on AO3, and I'm delighted to see what you have in store for me! I've listed some general likes for the medium opt-ins I've requested across fandoms as well as prompts for the fandoms I've requested, but if inspiration takes you in another direction, go for it; I love all of these canons, and I'm sure I'll love what you create for them.

DNWs

  • smut
  • gore (canon-typical violence is fine, but keep injury descriptions minimally graphic)
  • change of setting AUs (e.g., coffee shop/pirate/high school AU - canon divergence AUs fine)

Likes

  • Worldbuilding - how did canon get to be the way it is? how do the nitty gritty parts of it work?
  • Crack, especially crack treated seriously
  • Outsider POV, unreliable narrator, contradicting narrators
  • Big stylistic choices - second-person or other non standard POVs, epistolary, nonlinear storytelling. Go wild with it, and I'm sure we'll both have fun
  • Characters being competent in their area of expertise
  • Mystery/intrigue
  • Missing scenes, Little details of canon
  • Hurt/comfort
  • Fluff
  • Hijinks
  • Slice of life

Medium-Specific Likes

I've requested the same medium tags across fandoms this year, with the exception of those not applicable to a specific fandom (e.g., not requesting the recursive tags for fandoms I don't have works in, ASW panels for book-only fandoms, etc).

  • In-Universe Media - a great medium for worldbuilding-focused works! I love all forms of these, especially documents that peer into areas of canon that are more in the background, or that cast a different perspective on the events we see in canon (like a police report for the victims of a Leverage heist). For this (and Art and Poetry), Any truly does mean any; I love all varieties of this I run across, and so the easiest way to trim down the number of opt-ins I was requesting was just to request the top of the umbrella.
  • Conspiracy Board - this can be a really fun twist on an outsider perspective for me, especially because so many events in these canons are wild enough that the truth truly is stranger than fiction. It can also be fun to see what conspiracies the characters themselves hold, and are willing to put on their tinfoil hats for.
  • List of things (character) is not allowed to do - a perfect excuse for comedy! Many of these characters are terrible at decision-making, and I'd love to see their (canonical or not) poor choices dragged out in listicle format.
  • Art in general - I love seeing different styles of art and how other people visualize things! In terms of specific likes, I tend to prefer stylized (e.g., art deco, medieval-style paintings) over realistic art styles and pieces with a clear sense of ~aesthetic, though I don't have strong preferences for what that aesthetic is; it's kind of like big stylistic choices in prose for me.
  • A Softer World style art/panels - I think that the A Softer World format is great for a gut punch, and so many of these comics are so blorbo-coded it's not even funny. I'm totally down for something in the same three-panel style but with your own text as well, or text from one of the ASW spinoffs.
  • Illustrated Text - I love art and I love stories! I think illustrated texts can convey more information/narrative than art alone can convey, but art conveys a lot of emotion and setting of that text, and it can also allow a lot of concision in conveying that information. And, for things potentially outside of the canonical universe, like action figure packaging, it can be interesting to see how something artificial can be marketed, and the resemblances it has to real out-of-universe examples.
  • Recursive Fic/Remix/Fanart/Fancomic/Cover of My Fic - Honestly, I'm just curious to see how other people interact with/interpret things I've created. Any works under my name on AO3 are fair game; any art or fic opt ins that apply to your idea are fine. I'm also open to remixes/recursives/et cetera in fandoms I didn't request!
  • Solo Journaling TTRPG rules, TTRPG rules, TTRPG Supplement - I'd love to see how any of these canons work as a TTRPG! I'm most familiar with PBtA systems, which I think do some really interesting things with having narrative elements being baked into classes, but I've also played DnD, and I'm more than willing to try a new system and see how it interacts with one of these canons. I really enjoy when narrative and mechanics interact in messy ways, as well as when things have unexpected-but-makes-sense-deep-down benefits/drawbacks.
  • Poetry - I love poetry because it can establish very specific moods with very few words. No preference for metered vs free verse; I really like when very structured styles (e.g., villanelle) use that rigidity to full effect but also appreciate how less structured formats allow ideas and language to flow more freely. I tend to prefer people over nature in terms of subjects. I'm particularly interested in in-universe poems (e.g., something a character wrote or a song they grew up singing).
  • Logic Puzzle, Murdle - The logic needed to solve them, the way you get little bits and pieces before everything becomes clear all at once. I think this can be a fun way to do slice of life; A does these things with these parameters, but must remember which is which. For murdle, I love the backstory behind it, and the reaction of the suspect at the end! (I also really love the snarky weapons/locations/suspects cards).
  • Meta, Character Analysis, Worldbuilding Headcanon - I really enjoy seeing how these worlds work, and I feel like meta and worldbuilding headcanons dive deep into that in nifty ways (either by analyzing canon evidence or creating theories). It can also be really interesting to hear about a canon from a perspective other than my own, or through the lens of a subject I'm not all that familiar with, and how those can enrich my own understanding of a piece of media. The only thing I look for when reading meta and meta-adjacent works is earnestness; I am more than happy to hear about a pedantic nitpicking of legal defenses within Murdle, or the deep ecological meaning of One Piece's oceanography, or a reading that is definitely not intended by canon but produces a fascinating reframing a la Darth Jar Jar, so long as you're invested in it.

I'm sloooowly watching my way through the anime, but I'm much more familiar with the LA. Treats welcome and enabled!

DNWs: gore, animal cruelty, major character death (references to Bellmere's or Kuina's deaths okay), character bashing

Additional Tags:

  • Alternate Universe - Daemons: I feel like daemon AUs are an excellent way of exploring a character's personality and upbringing: is the creature common to where they grew up (but not necessarily where they are now), or rarer? What does it signify to the character, and what does it imply to everyone else? I also really love same-gender daemons, and the many things that they could imply/represent; it kind of reminds me of the Ds, in a way.
  • Alternate Universe - Different First Meeting - I love how first impressions shape character's relationships, and different first meetings are a great way to do it. What happens if these characters meet as children? As two mercenaries hired by the same person? In jail?
  • Alternate Universe - Role Reversal - I'd love to see a backstory swap for various characters. What does young!Shanks think of Luffy and his cool Strawhat Pirate crew when they show up on his island? What happens if Bellemere and her new adoptees are the ones stranded with minimal resources, and Sanji's the one working for a dastardly pirate to protect the Baratie?
  • Character Thinks No One is Coming to Save Them (Everyone is Coming to Save Them) - This is one of my ride-or-die tropes! Whether a version  of the incidents we see in-show (Arlong Park springs to mind) or a terrible misadventure of your own making, I am always all for a big damn heroes moment when someone thinks they're past redemption.
  • Character Unexpectedly Turned Into a Child - This is another of my ride-or-die fanfic tropes because it so deftly combines (unwilling) backstory reveal, hurt/comfort, and lack of perspective from the now!child. Just a bunch of great tastes that taste great together.
  • Hurt/Comfort - I love h/c so much! Favorite subtropes include: suffering hurt for someone else, unexpected comfort/comfort from an unexpected source, suffering stoically until the hurtee eventually breaks down, flip of typical hurtee/comfortee roles in a relatinship.
  • Missing Scene - What happened when they were sailing along (or even on an island) that didn't get shown?
  • Platonic Cuddling - Luffy is very physically affectionate, and that rubs off on everyone he meets.
  • POV Outsider - I feel that Outsider POV allows for a lot of great worldbuilding (what does the outsider expect to see? why?), comedy (via misinterpretation of what's going on), and a real understanding that these people are Not Normal (said with love).
  • Time Loop - I love a good time loop. What is the day/week/etc set to loop? How are they put into the loop, and what does it take to get out? How does the loop reset? What do the characters learn about themselves and each other in the loop, before breaking out of it with unexpected knowledge.
  • Time Travel - I also really enjoy linear time travel. Whether change is possible or not, having characters experience an event from a new perspective (or just with future knowledge) lends an interesting POV to what's going on? How do people who haven't traveled react to the traveler?
  • Time Travel Fix-It - And what happens when a character succeeds at fixing their past? How do they go about it, and are there knock-on effects they didn't intend?
  • Whump - Because sometimes your faves need to suffer prettily. Combines well with h/c and everyone coming to the rescue.
  • Worldbuilding - I am a huge worldbuilding fan, and One Piece has so many interesting possibilities! What does the history of this world look like? What does life look like logistically for different types of people, or islands in different places?

Akagami no Shanks | Red-Haired Shanks & Monkey D. Luffy

Alternate Universe - Daemons, Alternate Universe - Different First Meeting, Alternate Universe - Role Reversal, Character Thinks No One is Coming to Save Them (Everyone is Coming to Save Them), Character Unexpectedly Turned Into a Child, Hurt/Comfort, Missing Scene, Platonic Cuddling, POV Outsider, Time Loop, Time Travel, Time Travel Fix-It, Whump, Worldbuilding

I love Luffy and Shanks' relationship! Shanks hasn't seen Luffy in years, but their time together has a very clear influence on who Luffy is as a person: his understanding of pirate ideals, the casualness with which he levels massive strength, his fierce ties to friends, his tendency to be chill in situations he should probably be taking a little bit more seriously… I love it.

I'd love to see Luffy encounter Shanks again, now that they're captain to captain, or perhaps encounter him in a different way the first time - a prisoner of Garp's he helps escape? (Or a total roleswap, where baby!Shanks is overawed by adult!pirate!Luffy and friends - or even a time travel ouroboros version, where Shanks was influenced by Luffy and time travels back - on purpose or on accident - to influence him in turn.) How do they get along, now that they're closer to peers? What happens if there's a reversal of the seaking incident, where Luffy needs to save his mentor?

Coby & Monkey D.

Coby and Luffy make such an interesting pair - hopeful pirate and would-be marine on a pirate ship, the one too calm about the situation and the one not calm enough, both about to get their understandings of the world tested. I'd love to see how their interactions evolve over time, either in an AU where Coby joins the Strawhats or as they face each other from opposite sides of the law. Do they come to understand the other (and their point of view) more over time, or less? (It could be fun to have an outside Marine POV wondering wtf is up with the two of them.)

Expanding on their time together in canon could also be really fun. What do they do when they're still on the ship together? What misadventures do they have getting to the Marine branch, and how could they end up having misadventures together once they got there?

I'd also really enjoy an AU where the sides are flipped - earnest new Marine Coby has to help get Luffy out of a corrupt base, or maybe Coby is an unintentional stowaway that allies himself with Alvida's unwilling cabin boy, Luffy.

Bell-mère & Nami & Nojiko, Nami & Nojiko

Alternate Universe - Daemons, Alternate Universe - Different First Meeting, Alternate Universe - Role Reversal, Character Thinks No One is Coming to Save Them (Everyone is Coming to Save Them), Character Unexpectedly Turned Into a Child, Hurt/Comfort, Missing Scene, Platonic Cuddling, POV Outsider, Time Loop, Time Travel, Time Travel Fix-It, Whump, Worldbuilding, Alternate Universe - Everyone Lives/Nobody Dies

I love what we got of Nami's family, and I'd love to see more. What's Nojiko's perspective on Nami turning to Arlong (at the time she makes her deal, in the years after, it all in retrospect once Arlong Park has been stormed)? How does their relationship change after season 1? Are they in contact at all while Nami is at sea?

I'd love to see Bellmere's relationship with her daughters in more detail, especially how it changes over time. For a nobody dies AU, I'd equally love an AU where Arlong never comes (...to Cocoyashi) and Nami becomes a cat burglar for other reasons to a version where Bellemere somehow survives Arlong coming (someone else dies instead? Taken prisoner? Narrowly survives but this needs to be kept secret?) and has to deal with Nami's choices afterwards. (Does Nami still decide to try to buy the village back with her mother still alive or does she try something else? Does Bellemere try to get some old Marine friends to help, and if so how does that go?)

For the time travel tags, I'd love to see a loop centered around Arlong's initial arrival (or maybe a varying-length one centered around the destruction of Arlong village), or Nami (and friends?) going back to that day, to change things or merely to observe them. Or maybe Nami isn't the one travelling at all; maybe Bellemere's in a loop that resets when her daughters die, or Nojiko is the one who flashes back/sideways and realizes why Nami joined the pirates (and now has to keep this a secret from everyone, including her sister).

Focus: Nami

Alternate Universe - Daemons, Alternate Universe - Different First Meeting, Alternate Universe - Role Reversal, Character Thinks No One is Coming to Save Them (Everyone is Coming to Save Them), Character Unexpectedly Turned Into a Child, Hurt/Comfort, Missing Scene, Platonic Cuddling, POV Outsider, Time Loop, Time Travel, Time Travel Fix-It, Whump, Worldbuilding, Heists

Nami is my favorite character in the LA; I really like her complicated motives, the way she's internally one step to the side of everyone else and how that builds to the dramatic reveal at the end. I'd love to see more of her time with the Arlong Pirates (or her thought process in proposing the deal) and more of her reaction in the aftermath of finally having them gone, and dealing with everything that's happened since.

For the de-aging tag in specific, I think her taciturn nature surrounding her backstory is great fodder for dramatic irony. Is she pre-Arlong, a kid with clear money issues but only the hangups around pirates that a devil-may-care Marine would impress upon her? Is she post-Arlong, with this new tattoo no one's seen before and amped up about something she's utterly unwilling to talk about.

For the time travel tags, I'd love to see a loop centered around Arlong's initial arrival (or maybe a varying-length one centered around the destruction of Arlong village), or Nami (and friends?) going back to that day, to change things or merely to observe them.

I also love Nami's thieving abilities, and I'd love to see a quick little heist she does on a crew (or Marine ship) that only realizes what hit them in retrospect.

Kuina & Roronoa Zoro

Alternate Universe - Daemons, Alternate Universe - Different First Meeting, Alternate Universe - Role Reversal, Character Thinks No One is Coming to Save Them (Everyone is Coming to Save Them), Character Unexpectedly Turned Into a Child, Hurt/Comfort, Missing Scene, Platonic Cuddling, POV Outsider, Time Loop, Time Travel, Time Travel Fix-It, Whump, Worldbuilding, Kuina (One Piece) Lives

This is a really impactful backstory scene, and I'd love to see more of Kuina and Zorro (either as children post-pact or in an AU where Kuina lives). How does their rivalry change over time; are they always the other's best competition, or do they mutually shift their sites on defeating/dealing with a specific person? How would Kuina fare in Zorro's shoes, were he the one to have the terrible childhood accident and she the one determined to keep their shared dream moving forward? As Kuina grows (and Zorro grows with her), does everything she's been told about swordswomen come true, or does she continue her dominance over the dojo (and come to the realization that she's internalized a bunch of nonsense)? If Kuina and Zorro both survive and continue as rivals, do they go out together, or do they separate and find each other again on the road of life?

For time-travel, I'd love an AU where Zorro saves Kuina (either traveling deliberately back to do it or getting lost in the timestream rather than on land); what knock-on effects happen because she survived? It could also be interesting to have her, rather than die from the accident, be catapulted forward in the timestream, and now seeking out her old friend (who's now significantly older than her and has also been putting her sword in his mouth).

Monkey D. Luffy & Nami & Roronoa Zoro & Usopp & Vinsmoke Sanji

I love all the Strawhats, and I'd love to see them working together in whatever way (and at whatever time) you choose.

For a different first meeting or role reversal, I'd love a backstory swap of the Strawhats. Maybe Luffy is the one constantly declaring Shanks is coming back, or Sanji is the one fighting hard to save the Baratie from someone demanding tribute money from it. What changes about the Strawhats here, and what stays the same? I'd also be into an AU where they meet under different circumstances (all getting arrested at the Marine branch, or meeting in jail) or for a different purpose (forming a Marine squad, maybe?).

For getting turned into a child, I'd love the characters to get a chance to witness (and maybe compare notes on, if this is a running thing) each other's terrible backstories. If they're all made children at once, how do they work together against whatever made them that way?

For the time travel tags, I'd love to see the Strawhats interfering in each other's backstories (maybe not in the ways that they were intending to), or maybe all journeying together to a time and place they know nothing about.

Hello! My AO3 is Brachylagus_fandom, and my discord is tiredandcold. Feel free to trawl through my old letters here for more of my likes, as well as my AO3 and tumblr (brachylagus-fandom)

Manticore
Queen Elizabeth III
Elizabeth is such a fun character. Decisive (and occasionally impulsive), and with so much going on that she can't tell anyone about for a myriad of messy reasons. (Just... the entire High Ridge takeover. Some of your closest family members and friends, including your surrogate father figure, have just been murdered at the behest of the same people who arranged the murder of your actual father, whose death you have had to maintain was a tragic accident for years, and now - on the cusp of victory! - your government has offered a cease-fire. Damn, I'd be pissed, too.)
I'd love to see Elizabeth in her element as a queen (or princess). What are her most significant duties, which are her favorites, and which does she loathe? It would also be nice to see her taking some time off from ruling. What activities does she enjoy?

Michelle Henke
I really love Mike as a character; her confidence counterbalances Honor's anxiety very well. I'd love to see her building that relationship during their time in the Academy, or her various adventures as an officer since.
It's mentioned that a royal serving in the Navy is relatively atypical, and she's almost as close to the throne as Michael is; how does she deal with the same pressures of external rank? Do they ever bond over it?

Honor Harrington
Honor is one of my favorite characters; I love her dedication and determination to do the right thing, no matter how difficult. I'd love to see that determination developing, either as a child (between her parents' professions and treecats, I think her youth in Yawata Crossing could also give a sneak peek to the "has tremendous power and influence and uses them well" theme of the later books) or during her time at the Academy. How have her methods of achieving her goals shifted over the years.
I'd also love to see a day in Honor's life during the series, as Steadholder or Officer or Duchess or War Goddess. (Logistics and slice of life are two of my favorite things, after all.)
Honor and Paul are very sweet together. I like that they both have a good sense of humor, and Paul is a grounding influence on her. I'd love to see them taking some leave together, or maybe an AU where Paul lives (either by surviving the duel or avoiding it all together.)

Horace Harkness
He's very much a jerk with a heart of gold in On Basilisk Station, and I love that he never quite loses the drives that made him a jerk there - or the drives and personal loyalties that gave him that heart of gold. I love his relationship with Scotty, but I also really like what we see of him with Iris Babcock (very much "ah, so he's attracted to people who can kick his butt... well, that explains the trips to Marine bars"). Any exploration of that would be excellent.
I'd love to see a more interior look at his role in In Enemy Hands. How did he come up with his plan to orchestrate their escape? Was it something he'd thought out (and maybe run past Scotty) first, or was it a spur of the moment, "if I don't deescelate this from the Peeps' point of view fast someone's going to get shot" decision that he then made the best of? Did he have any backup ideas in case his guards had been a bit sharper, or the systems had been more separated?

Prescott Tremaine
Harkness', and I quote the wiki here, "friend and admirer"! I love how earnest he is, and also his competency with tech. I'd love to see an exploration of his skills with tech (maybe he's involved in the meeting of the minds for the Grand Alliance), his relationship with Harkness, how he's changed over the years, any of it.

Anton Zilwicki
I'm a sucker for spy tropes, and the Zilwicki-Cachat duo provides them in spades. I'd love to see previous exploits by Zilwicki in that department, or how (and why) he gained those skills in the first place.
I also really love his relationship with his kids. His determination to find Helen in From the Highlands is excellent, and I love his and Berry's relationship in the Torch books. I'd love to see more of him with any of the kids (Larens included).

Haven
Victor Cachat
The other half of the spy duo! Cachat is a human embodiment of "refuge in audacity", and I love that about him. What was his first experiences as a spy like, and how did he develop those skills? What are some other occasions on which he used those talents? How did his opinions on the Committee shift post-From the Highlands, and what was that process like? What is his life on Torch like, and what was the process of establishing the kingdom like?

Shannon Foraker
I love Shannon! Her tech skills, her lack of social graces, her determination to do what she thinks is right - it's all catnip to me. I'd love to see the process of her growing up and gaining those skills (particularly if she isn't Nouveau Parisian - it feels like all the Havenites come from that city, and it could be interesting to see how coming from a non-Haven Havenite world impacted her childhood and experience in the Navy). I'd also love to see more times when she used them, or a deeper look at the times we see her tech wizardry on page.

Eloise Pritchart
I like how Pritchart is fiercely principled and dedicated to her cause, even when she appears to have outlasted it. I'd love to see her as Brigade Commander Delta (or working her way up to that position), or in the short period immediately after the Harris assassination, where she's not exactly commanding a brigade but not yet a commissioner, and it looks like everything might just work out for the revolution. (And then dealing with it when things do not just work out.) I'd also love to see more of her as a Citizen Commissioner, slowly building up a rapport with Giscard and then conspiring with him to get what they want from the Committee. It would also be excellent to see her as President of Haven, trying to rebuild her country and dealing with the responsibilities.

Thomas Theisman
I really enjoy the way he and Honor are foils to each other - both with strong moral compasses and senses of duty, but while Honor is often able to push past her duties to do the right thing, Theisman doesn't really have that ability until "Good-bye, Citizen Chairman".
I'd love to see Theisman's path to joining the Navy, especially as a Dolist in a time when Navy officerships were heavily associated with Legislaturists. Why did he make that choice? What was his childhood like before then, and what was his time in training like? What was the worst drunken night he has ever had (and why does it top "accidentally signing your maybe-friend's death warrant")?
I'd also love to see him as an officer, before, during, or after his meetings with Honor. How did life shipboard practically change post-Harris assination? How did the planning process for the coup (and its immediate aftermath) go?

Lester Tourville
Citizen Admiral Cowboy! I have a soft spot for characters putting on a front to distract from their true emotions/thoughts, and Tourville does it outrageously. When did he first starting putting on that facade, and how has it shifted over the years? What are some times it came extremely in handy, and what does stepping back from it feel like?

Grayson
Barbara Bancroft
Barbara just fascinates me. She's baked into the core of Grayson's historical myth-building, and I'd love to see the way various factions use her as a symbol... and how Barbara-as-Saint diverges from Barbara-as-a-person. What was she like in life? What was her background like; was her upbringing similar to what we see on Grayson in the immediate pre-Honor era, to what we see of life on Masada, some combination of both, or neither? Had she known Benjamin before the Civil War, or did she go to him as an unknown last resort? What led her to betray her husband, and how did that actually play out in real life? In the post-war period, what things was she advocating for, and how did she do so? What was public opinion on her like during her life and shortly after her death, and how does it differ from what we hear of her in canon?
I'd also really love to see Barbara's impact on Masada, directly or by proxy. What did the original Sisters of Barbara know of her, and why did they name the organization after her? Was it started by Dinah, or are its origins much earlier?

Abigail Hearns
I love Abigail as a manifestation of how Honor has shaped Grayson. What was Abigail's life like before Second Yeltsin, and how did her idolization of Honor (and desire to join the Navy like her) manifest over the years?
I'd love to hear more about her time at Saganami Island. How was she regarded by her Manticoran peers (who don't really have the context for why her presence is a Big Deal) - and by her Grayson ones? As of Obligated Service, there are a handful of other Grayson women at Saganami Island; what was Abigail's relationship with them like?

Miranda LaFollet
I love Miranda as a character; her perspective is unique, and she holds a lot of power in subtle ways. I'd love to see her perspective on some of the changes to Grayson Honor has wrought - or on Honor's unexpected return from the dead. It would also be really interesting to see what her life is like when Honor is serving; what are her primary tasks when her mistress is on-ship?
I'd also really like to see what Miranda's life was like before Honor arrived on the scene. What were her plans for her future; was she expecting to marry and be a homemaker, or was maid an intended career from the start? (I feel like, despite poking at the notion, the series doesn't really challenge the notion that Grayson women don't work outside the home - in part because Grayson's worldbuilding is based on and buys into a lot of myths about gender roles Back In The Day. Even beyond the way that myth doesn't hold up in our history, Grayson's potential labor pool is filled with a lot more women than ours ever is, and their work needs to go somewhere.)

Rachel Mayhew
All of the Mayhew daughters are so cute, and I love seeing them grow up throughout the course of the series. What's Rachel's childhood like? What things is she expected to do, and what things does she enjoy doing? What does Rachel remember of Grayson pre-Honor (and of her first, disastrous visit to the Protector's home)? How aware is she of the changes to society around her as she's growing up, and how does she push for more changes herself?
Allison's talk with the Mayhew parents after Rachel's adoption is one of my favorite bits of that whole sequence because it really highlights the way that treecats change their human's life - and not always in ways the people around them find easy to handle. I know Honor has some armor in much of her clothes to make Nimitz hopping on safer and easier; does Rachel spark a trend for Grayson tabards to incorporate such a material (perhaps a
fter a scandalous new trend among The Youths to have slashes in the shoulders of one's gown)?

Treecats
Lionheart
The Star Kingdom prequels were the very first Honorverse I ever read, and Lionheart was one of my faves; I love the way he was so curious about the newly-arrived human presence on Sphinx, much in the way Stephanie was curious about the planet around her. I love their mutual courage and mutual bond, and I'd love to see how that grows and changes over the courses of their lives.
There's obviously a huge leap between how treecats are regarded in the Star Kingdom prequels and how they're regarded (legally and socially) at the start of the main series, and I'd love to see how the early parts of that shift took place. How does the role of treecats in two-leg society change over the course of Lionheart's life? When the treecat sign is being developed, there's a mention of a previous attempt at creating one, back in the early days of treecat-human interaction; was Lionheart involved? Alternately, how does the role of bonded 'cats in treecat society change? Are they regarded as mavericks or even outcasts, or do they take on a position of leadership, given their enhanced ability to influence two-legs' behavior? When was the "we'll pretend we're just cute furry buzzsaws" policy enacted from the treecat end, and why?
I'd also love to see some of Sphinx before it was settled by humans. What was treecat life like before that point? What were Lionheart's formative years like?

Hipper
I love Hipper and Rachel's relationship, and I'd love to see more of it? What hijinks can a girl and her closest, furriest friend (and her close but not furry sisters) get up to? What additional difficulties does being a bonded treecat on Grayson bring (above those a bonded treecat in two-leg society generally faces)?
I'd also really enjoy a look at Hipper's life pre-adoption. What were his stances on two-legs growing up, and how did those shift as he grew? Why did he take the mission to the Far World, why was he asked to take it, and how was it presented to him?

Nimitz
The great Lord Stinker himself! I love Nimitz's relationship with Honor, and I'd love to see that evolve over the years. Has his jokester streak become less pronounced over the years, now that he has Serious Responsibilities to his people, or has it become more so, as he became more accustomed to two-leg humor and his personal two-leg has gotten better equipped to handle his chaos? What was their relationship like when Honor was younger? How has it shifted now that they have a direct line of contact?
I'd also love to see Nimitz's perspective on the events of the books (or Honor's earlier life). How much of what she was doing did he understand, and how much did he file away as "two-leg nonsense with blinking screens"? Before they gained that direct telepathic link, how much of what he didn't directly witness did he see/comprehend? (Something like Pavel's attack at the Academy, for example; after he woke up, did Nimitz know what had happened, or only that his two-leg was extremely scared and upset?) Does he agree with her decisions most of the time?
I'd also love to see some of Laugh Brightly before he became Nimitz. What was his life like before he met Honor? How was he different, and what about him hasn't changed?

Samantha
And, last but not least, Samantha! I love her, and I'd love to see more about her. What was her life like before she adopted Harold, and how did that situation come to pass? How did she get acclimated to the life of a navy spacer? What was her first interaction with Nimitz like? (Had she met other bonded 'cats before? What did they bond over? What's her perspective on Honor's adventures since, and the many places she's been to?

I've requested fic and comics of either length for all fandoms, and I'm open to treats.

DNWS

  • porn without plot
  • gore
  • animal cruelty
  • totally unhappy endings (angst is great, I'd just like a happy or bittersweet end to it)
  • change of setting aus (e.g., High School AU - canon divergence is great)

Likes

Hello author! I go by [archiveofourown.org profile] Brachylagus_fandom on AO3. I love gen in all its many flavors, and I'm excited to see what you will be creating for me! I've requested fic and art for all fandoms and fanvids for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Leverage, and Lockwood & Co.

DNWs: gore, animal cruelty, completely unhappy endings (bittersweet OK)

Freeforms I'm Requesting Across Fandoms
  • Awkward and Unconventional Gestures of Friendship
  • Banter - character development through conversation
  • Canon-typical shenanigans
  • Character Unexpectedly Turned Into Child: this is a ride-or-die trope for me! I love the way the de-aging shifts group dynamics; someone who used to be your equal is now reliant on you for basic needs, and them returning to their typical age doesn't erase that experience (or make you feel any less awkward around your now-adult-again teammate). I am particularly fond of the h/c version where the deaged character is reverted to a traumatic age (esp. when their now-caretakers didn't previously know about said trauma!).
  • Characters work together to find an unexpected solution to problems
  • Cleanup and paperwork after canon-typical plot: I love the small, fiddly logistical details, and paperwork is one enumeration of that. What forms in superhero land do you need to resurrect yourself? What do Leverage Consulting's official filings look like? How is the insurance for a psychical agency in Lockwood & Co. underwritten?
  • Fix-It
  • Hurt/Comfort: one of my favorite genres on fic! The major attractor to the genre for me is the comfort, but I really love when the hurt is proportionate to said comfort; in order to get that really satisfying emotional payoff for me, the hurtee needs to get whaled on first, physically or emotionally. There's some heavy overlap with whump for hurt scenarios, but some additional hurt/comfort tags I like are: Aftermath - Character doesn't tell anyone they were tortured/raped; is found out anyway, Character thinks no one is coming to save them; MULTIPLE people team up for the rescue, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Hurt/Comfort - Character Doesn't Expect Tenderness But Gets It Anyway, Hurt/Comfort - Character expects to be punished but is comforted instead, Hurt/Comfort - Character hurts themself doing something stupid, Hurt/Comfort - Character(s) discover Character A's biggest secret, Hurt/Comfort - Comforting from Nightmares, Hurt/Comfort - Hurt character initially mistrustful of comforter, Hurt/Comfort – Hurt/sick character still has to get their job done, Hurt/Comfort- A pretends to be okay when really sick/injured; B figures it out, Terrifying Captor treats Captive Better than Own Side Ever Did, Unexpected Kindness, Unexpected Mercy
  • Nerding over technology or science: or ~science! Some additional related tags: Bonding over science and/or magic, Intelligent Characters Enthusing Over Learning New Things (Especially From Each Other), Mad Science, Mathematics, Science & Philosophy, Science as a Disturbing and Destructive Hobby
  • POV Outsider: Outsider POV is one of my favorite narrative devices. I really love how a person's knowledge of a situation alters how much of it they understand (and how close to the truth that understanding is), whether that be used for dramatic irony purposes, to raise stakes/tension, or for a good old lack-of-frame-of-reference gag. Some additional related tags I like are: Canon Events From Perspectives Not Given In Canon, Character's Canon-Typical Actions Are Terrifying To An Ordinary Person's Outsider POV, Outsider POV - Peers React to Teenager's Casual Familiarity with Potentially Dangerous Adult.
  • Queer Gen: I'd love to see how queerness shapes a character's relationship with their world - and with their friends. Self-discovery fic, coming out fic, two queer pals just hanging out fic, it's all great to me.
  • Ride-or-Die friendship: I am always here for friends who are always here for each other, for better and occasionally for worse.
  • Time Loop: I love how time loops focus in on one thing that must be fixed or else the world stops; it's a great set-up for single-minded obsession. I'm open to all sorts of ways of getting into/out of a loop, as well as different loop lengths (very long, very short, variable, etc) and reasons to reset. Some additional tags I like about time loops are: Time Loop - During Worst Day Of Their Lives, Time Loop - Enemies Have To Work Together To Solve The Loop, Time Loop - The part where the looper breaks and stops giving any fucks, Time Loop - the trauma of it follows the looping character after the loop has been broken, Time Loop - Two characters stuck in a time loop slowly realizing they're not the only one
  • Time Travel: Time travel is another one of my favorite tropes! I love the contrast between the time traveler, with all the weight of what they've lived through in the future, and the characters from the present time. I think how the time traveler chooses to interact with the past - what they try to change, if anything, and how they try to change it - can be a really interesting look into a character, and I also love how those changes carry forward, sometimes in unexpected (and negative) ways. Some additional tags about time travel I like are: Outsider POV - Time Travel From the POV of a Non-Time-Traveling Character, Time Travel - Character changes the past to prevent traumatic events and succeeds, Time Travel - character goes back to try to prevent traumatic events & ends up causing them, Time Travel - Character meets their child self, Time Travel - Character saves their younger self from trauma, Time Travel - deliberately stomping on butterflies, Time Travel - From the POV of a Non-Time-Traveling Character, Time travel - meeting your past/future self, Time travel - Time traveler's foreknowledge leads to treating a difficult/scary person very kindly, Time travel - trying to change the past but hampered by lack of full knowledge of past, Time Travel Fix-It, Time Travel Make-It-Worse.
  • Whump: I love a good bit of whump! The character trying to deal with the situation as it happens (stoically? extremely unstoically? somehow both?) and then dealing with the aftermath is often very iddy to me! Comfort afterwards also highly recommended but not strictly necessary. Some whump scenarios from the tags I like: Being hurt by possessed/mind controlled loved one (& letting it happen to save the loved one), Character A is delirious and calls for B even though B is right there, Character A is hurt saving Character B's life, Character A Was Possessed And Character B Was The Only One To Notice, Character runs into someone who reveals past traumatic/shameful event to their friends/family, De-aged character is de-aged to an age that was particularly traumatic for them, Nightmares that are memories, Supernaturally induced Fear, Trapped in a Dream, Trapped in a Nightmare, Trapped in a Traumatic Memory, Traumatic backstory reveal, Truth Serum, Touch-Starved, While not lucid character A accidentally lets slip a secret they think B will hate them for.
  • Worldbuilding: Worldbuilding is a long-time member of my likes list. How does canon work? What keeps it ticking? What parts of those logistical systems are non-obvious?

Other Freeform Tags I like
  • Structural tags: 5 times this happened and 1 time something else happened, 5+1 Things, Adult or Teenage Character's Childhood Backstory,  Character Study, Crack Treated Seriously, Cracks showing in moments of happiness, Case Fic, First Meetings, Follow up after canon event, Missing Scene, Non-Linear Narrative, Noodle Incidents, Post-Canon, Post-Canon - Characters Traveling Together, Pre-Canon, Rashomon-Style Conflicting Narratives, Seeming fluff that’s actually incredibly bittersweet due to surrounding circumstances, Unreliable Narrator
  • Alternate Universe tags: Alternate Universe - Background Swap, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Alternate Universe - Daemons, Alternate Universe - Different First Meeting, Alternate Universe - everyone is a woman, Canon Characters Transported To A Dark/Mirrorverse AU and Meeting Their Alternate Selves, Dimensional Travel - Having To Impersonate Alternate Evil Version of Self, Dimensional Travel - Having To Impersonate Alternate Version of Self, Genderswap - Always a Different Sex, Platonic Soulmates - You feel your soulmate's emotions, Platonic Soulmates - You Gain Your Soulmate's Scars/Injuries, Trapped in a Mirror Universe
  • Captivity-related tags: Both Captured - Forced to Work Together to Escape, Character A who was tortured risks captivity again to rescue Character(s) B, Character held captive in public forced to act normally so others won't know, Going through captivity together, A Is Kidnapped and B Will Burn Down the World to Get A Back Safely, Kidnapped to force cooperation from powerful loved one, Rescue Missions
  • Tags about being forced to work together: Enemies forced to work together to survive a more powerful mutual enemy, Forced to interact by the disappearance/death of another character important to both, Forced to team up to fight crime, Forced to work together in order to escape
  • Loyalty tags: Character Surprised By Their Own Deep Loyalty Feels; Object Of Loyalty Even More Surprised, Loyal character who lost object of devotion is desperate to be loyal again (someone takes advantage), Loyalty - Being Thought of As Nothing More Than Someone Else's Weapon, Loyalty - Betraying Leader or Subordinate to Save Them, Loyalty - Call Off Your Dog, Loyalty - Declaring Oneself Someone Else's Weapon, Loyalty - Leader wants to be worthy of their followers' loyalty, Loyalty - so intense they commit crimes without question, Loyalty so intense they commit crime/treason for the character they're loyal to without question, Monster on a leash - villain only takes orders from one unexpected person
  • Family-related tags: Character resigned to loneliness finds (platonic) love/family in a most unexpected place, Families of Choice, Family Adopts Outsider Who Saved One Of Their Own, Family members who would do absolutely anything for each other, Family members who would do absolutely anything for each other (even to their own detriment), Found Family, slow burn found family, Unconventional Found Family, Wrestling with a complicated family legacy
  • Teamwork-related tags: Bonding by teaming up during a fight, Competence - highly effective teamwork, Crew as Crew - More complex and unique than just friends or family, Superhero Team, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Team as Family, Team Bonding, Team Dynamics, Team Living Together and Learning to Deal with Everyones' Bad Habits, Teaming Up To Pull A Jailbreak From The Afterlife
  • Undercover tags I like: Undercover - Character is undercover and their enemy unexpectedly plays along, Undercover - Forced to hurt friend/partner to avoid blowing cover, Undercover agent reluctantly grows to like their target (& still goes through with their mission)
And many more! (Additional tags that I didn't think quite fit into the categories above. Emphasis on many; there's like a hundred of them) )

Hello Worldbuilder! I go by [archiveofourown.org profile] Brachylagus_fandom on AO3. I've provided some prompts below, but if you have a different idea, please go for it; I'm excited to see what you'll create for me. Fandoms are listed in the order they appear in the tagset, and tags are listed alphabetically within their fandoms; I've requested Any or No Characters and Original Character(s) and fic/art/meta for all of them.

Do Not Wants: explicit sex or gore (fade to black okay), animal cruelty

Likes:

  • Characters being competent in their area of expertise
  • Outsider POV
  • Missing scenes and alternate perspectives
  • Crack, particularly crack treated seriously
  • Mystery/intrigue, casefic
  • Hurt/comfort
  • Fluff
  • Hijinks
  • Music

Worldbuilding-Specific Likes:

  • Logistics - how does stuff get made? How is it moved?
  • History and its relation to the present
  • Period-appropriate details, esp. in clothing
  • Science and scientific approaches to magic
  • Things that did happen in canon but were only referenced
  • Tech - what's standard, what's cutting edge, how it works. Blueprints always welcome.
  • Cultural attitudes around queerness, race, education, or any other issue

Fairy Tail

Any or No Characters, Freed Justine, Gajeel Redfox, Laxus Dreyar, Levy McGarden, Original Character(s)

Dragonslayer Magic - I find the various forms of it fascinating, and I would love to see how the different dragonslayers developed their talents. What differences are there (in e.g. training, power, strengths, or weaknesses) between a first and second (or any other) generation dragonslayer who use the same element? Its status as lost magic is also interesting; I think there could be a really fun in-universe meta contrasting what the record says about dragonslayer magic and Dragonslayers' lived experiences with it.

Script Magic - I love both Freed and Levy, and I also really like their different styles of script magic. How do the forms of script magic differ from each other with regards to strengths and weaknesses? How do different styles reflect the caster's strengths and personality? I'd also really love to see clever applications and/or exploits of script magic.

The 39 Clues - Various Authors

Any or No Characters, Original Character(s)

Branch culture - I'd love a deeper look into how the branches work. How does this differ between branches?

Cahill History - In the series, basically every major event in the past 500 years has been tied to the Cahhils somehow. Or the previous attempts at unification seen in
Into the Gauntlet!

Technology - I love all the weird tech in the series, and I'd love to see more of it. Development, use reports in the field, various characters' opinions on the latest card-worthy invention… all of it, please.

The Serum - An endlessly fascinating subject. How did Gideon create it and source his ingredients? How did Olivia source the ingredients for the counter-serum after his death? How has it been reconstructed since? How does it work? Is there actually a reliable way to test for it (as a proxy for what branch someone belongs to); if so, how does that work?

The Vespers - How are they structured, and how has that changed over the years? (I'd love to see the org chart.) What are the organization's overall goals? How are the members recruited? Based on Sinead, there's a certain amount of grabbing revenge-seeking Cahills, but there's also some family recruitment if V1 and Arthur Trent are anything to go by. (I would also love to see what's up with the Trents specifically, and how they fit into this mess.) How did the various Vespers in canon come into contact with the organization?

Hunger Games Series - All Media Types

Annie Cresta, Any or No Characters, Brutus, Cashmere, Finnick Odair, Gloss, Lyme, Original Character(s)

Career training in Hunger Games universe - How does it differ between the Career districts? Is it purely physical training or is there also camera training/interview prep/etc.? What ages of kids are trained, and how are they selected? What is the social life of kids in training like; do they interact with their non-Career friends at all? What happens to kids in Career training who don't volunteer?

Game design for any year of the hunger games - Who gets to design the arena? What sort of Gamemaker politics go into who gets chosen (and who gets to control which areas of the arena)? How does a theme/biome get chosen; are there any restrictions on what Gamemakers can choose? How extensively planned are the arenas in advance (versus going along with the tributes' ideas about/reactions to their terrain); does this differ between Gamemakers? How long does it take to put an arena together? What are some famous (or infamous) arenas?

Leverage

Any or No Characters, Original Character(s)

How the Leverage Team finds clients - What kind of process do they use? Discreet ads, some sort of referral service from people they trust, lurking on forums, some combination of the above, something else entirely? How has it changed from the beginning of the original run to Leverage: Redemption?

Leverage International - I'd love to see how any of the other Leverage teams work. How were their members recruited? What's their group dynamic like? Do the cases they take on differ from the original crew?

Networks between former clients - I love the idea of former clients knowing each other. Is their network something officially done by Leverage, or did they meet in other ways? Do former clients seek each other out by the latest headlines Leverage has generated? Do they keep up to date on the team's antics? What are the clients' feelings about each other?

The Mysterious Benedict Society (TV)

Any or No Characters, Martina Crowe, Original Character(s), Sticky Washington

Boatwright Academy - I loved the glimpses we saw of it in the show, and I'd love to know more. What subjects are taught there? How does one apply (and, given he was on the run followed by at an unaccredited school, how did Sticky get in)? What's the social environment there like?

Other Exceptional Children - The two we saw in season 1, or any of the Boatwright kids (in another world), or Number Two and Rhonda, or any others Mr. Benedict might've come across. How did they find and complete the tests? For the two in season one in particular (and any of the others in general), how did they react when what Curtain was doing/Mr. Benedict had done came out?

Tetherball - A surprisingly homoerotic sport! What does the intermural/professional scene look like? What about the intramural scene at, e.g., the Institute or Boatwright Academy?

Murdle (Video Game)

Any Murdler, Any or No Characters, Deductive Logico, Original Character(s), Inspector Irratino

Murdle Investigatory Methods/Forensics - I'd love to see how the investigatory work behind a murdle case works. Are Logico and Irratino handling the evidence, or are their specialists who determine whether the weapon contained a live animal?

Murdle Legal System - Why do murdlers only get a week in the rich people prison (if that)? For that matter, how does Irratino fake his death in the prison every week? And why is a lawyer considered a bludgeoning weapon and not a suspect?

The Old Ruins - I love these. They lend a spooky atmosphere wherever they crop up! Are they all, in fact, the same ruins, or is that merely a trick of the eye (plus perhaps them being built by the same person)? Are they in fact haunted, or is there a more mundane explanation? Who built them in the first place?

Hello Gift-In-A-Boxer!

I go by [archiveofourown.org profile] Brachylagus_fandom over on AO3, and I'm delighted to see what you have in store for me! I've listed some general likes for the medium opt-ins I've requested across fandoms as well as prompts for the fandoms I've requested, but if inspiration takes you in another direction, go for it; I love all of these canons, and I'm sure I'll love what you create for them.

I'm excited to have you creating for me! I have treats enabled, and I've requested "Fanart: 1 x 10-Page Comic OR 2 x 5-Page Comics at Artist's Discretion" and "Fanfic: 1 x 10000-Word Fic OR 2 x 5000-Word Fics at Author's Discretion" for all fandoms.

DNW: porn without plot, gore, animal cruelty, unhappy endings (angst is great, I'd just like a happy or bittersweet end to it), change of setting aus (e.g., High School AU - canon divergence is great)

Likes:

Hurt/Comfort

Humor, crack treated seriously

Hijinks and misadventures

Mystery

Character study - how did [X] get to be this way?

Worldbuilding - how does [thing] work? Why does it work like that? How has that changed over the years? What are the logistics involved?

Canon Divergence, especially of the "butterfly flaps its wings" sort

Outsider POV - I love when canon/the reader takes a bunch of things for granted because the protagonist knows them, but if you take a step sideways everyone not in the know is going "what"

Complicated, intense relationships

Characters being competent in their area of expertise

Playing with tropes or implications of canon

All sorts of "weird" stylistic choices - flowery prose, first or second person POV, non-past tense, etc.

Hello crossworker,

I go by [archiveofourown.org profile] Brachylagus_fandom on AO3. I love all these canons, and I can't wait to see how you put them together! In each request, I've written about a paragraph of what I'd like in a crossover about each canon and spitballed a couple of specific ideas, but feel free to go with something completely different if inspiration strikes.

DNWs: smut (kiss or fade-to-black is fine), gore

General Likes

  • Worldbuilding - how do the canons mesh together? If it's a fusion, how do characters' roles in Canon A transfer into Canon B?

  • Casefic, heistfic, and missionfic

Hello creator! I go by [archiveofourown.org profile] Brachylagus_fandom on AO3. I am very excited to see what unconventional thing you will have created for me! I've selected some medium tags I considered particularly fitting, but I've opted in to Creator's Choice of Canon-Appropriate In-Universe Mediums and Treats in Unrequested Mediums for all requests, so if you have a different idea, go for it!

DNWs: gore, porn without plot

Likes

  • Humor
  • Crack treated seriously
  • Worldbuilding - how do the systems in canon work? what are their logistics like?
  • Thinking through the implications of a choice/detail
  • Outsider POV - I love to see what other people within a canon take a look at the protagonists and draw logical conclusions about them/their motivations that are also completely wrong.
  • Character studies!
  • Riddles, puzzles, wordplay
  • For art, I really like distinctive styles, whether or not they're similar to canon visuals, and fun uses of color

The Mysterious Benedict Society - Trenton Lee Stewart

Audio and/or Visual - Any Visual Media Type, Crafts and Games - Logic Puzzle, In-Universe Media and Online - True Crime Podcast Transcript, In-Universe Personal Documents - Completed School Assignment, In-Universe Personal Documents - Correspondence, In-Universe Professional and Academic Documents - Skippy's List/Increasingly Specific Rules, In-Universe Social Media and Communication - r/Conspiracy thread (reddit), Style - Encoded Letter, Style - Non-Linear Narrative, Style - Spreadsheet

This is a childhood fave of mine, and I'd love to see anything in it! I think the canon's very much suited to twisty logic and wordplay, but it's also got a lot of chances for Outsider POV; the events of the book have big ramifications, but we only see them from a limited number of perspectives, all of them in the know.

Creator's Choice of Characters (Mysterious Benedict Society - books)

I'd love any of the background characters having a moment to shine! Maybe Moocho Brazos has a cooking-and-bodybuilding blog, or some ex-Messengers and Executives are declaring Curtain's downfall a conspiracy, or Phil Noland is having an exciting time at sea! I'd also love to see some of Milligan's spy shenanigans or the society having a reunion without world-saving for once.

Group: Number Two & Rhonda Kazembe (Mysterious Benedict Society - books)

They're so great! I'd love to see their relationship before the society was recruited, or once it's just them, Mr. Benedict, and Constance. How did they meet? What was their relationship then like?

Kate Wetherall (Mysterious Benedict Society - books)

The greatest, kate-est weather machine around! I love her fierce self-reliance and ingenuity. I'd love to see her life before the books, or learning to be a family with Milligan. I'm also extremely enamored with her bucket - how did she come up with such a thing? What are its contents, and what does she use them for? (Kate's tools, what chore she used them for, and where she got them from would be a fun logic puzzle.)

Worldbuilding (Mysterious Benedict Society - books)

I'd love to see the Emergency from another perspective, or the general public's understanding of the perilous journey or the breakout in Prisoner's Dilemma? I'd also love to see a deeper look into the tech of the series, or the paperwork the various characters have generated. (Milligan's return on its own would be a mess.) It would also be fun to see a bit more of the Institute's pedagogy; what are classes like? What do the assignments look like?

Original Work

Audio and/or Visual - Any Visual Media Type, Crafts and Games - Logic Puzzle, In-Universe Personal Documents - Correspondence, In-Universe Professional and Academic Documents - Notices, In-Universe Professional and Academic Documents - Skippy's List/Increasingly Specific Rules, In-Universe Social Media and Communication - /r/IAmA post, In-Universe Social Media and Communication - r/AmITheAsshole thread (reddit), In-Universe Social Media and Communication - r/RelationshipAdvice thread (reddit), Poetry - Any Poem Type

Group: Amateur Kidnappers & Rich Person Kidnapped on Weekly Basis (OW)

Just the inherent comedy in this alone! Is the rich person proactive about avoiding kidnapping or resigned to it at this point? Do the kidnappers get their payout in spite of their inexperience or get foiled as a result of it? Does the rich person explain how to kidnap them correctly to the kidnappers?

Group: Retired Villain Sidekick/Retired Superhero Sidekick/Their Antihero Flatmate (OW)

I'm weak for any kind of superheroes, lol. Did the three meet while the sidekicks were still active, or was it after they retired? Are they aware of each other's secret identities? Do secret identities and vigilante work lend a new edge to roommate fights?

Group: Vampire Pirate & Frenemy Navy Officer (OW)

I'd love to see the differences in strategy between a regular pirate and a pirate crew headed by a vampire. Do they only attack at night? How does the navy officer interact with the vampire pirate? What do other pirates and navy officers think about them?

The Mysterious Benedict Society (TV)

Audio and/or Visual - Any Visual Media Type, Crafts and Games - Logic Puzzle,  In-Universe Media and Online - True Crime Podcast Transcript, In-Universe Personal Documents - Completed School Assignment, In-Universe Professional and Academic Documents - Classroom Observation/Teacher Performance Notes, In-Universe Professional and Academic Documents - Notices, In-Universe Professional and Academic Documents - Skippy's List/Increasingly Specific Rules, In-Universe Social Media and Communication - r/AmITheAsshole thread (reddit), In-Universe Social Media and Communication - r/HobbyDrama thread (reddit), Style - Non-Linear Narrative

This is an adaptation of a childhood fave, and I think (like the original books) it's really good for twisty puzzles as well as outsider POV. I'd love to see the general reaction to the Emergency and any alternate explanations people had for either it or Curtain's downfall!. A Skippy's List for the society would be great, and one for the adults would be even funnier!

Creator's Choice of Characters (Mysterious Benedict Society TV)

There are so many great characters in this canon! I'd love to see the institute from someone else's perspective, be that a failing student like Charlie, a Messenger like Lindsay, one of the Helpers or Recruiters, a teacher like Mr. Oshiro, or Jackson and Jillson in all their creepiness. I'd also love to see a perspective on the Emergency from someone not in the know, like Ms. Perumal or her mother. SQ's relationship with Curtain is all kinds of messed up, and I'd love to see that explored. I'd love to see more of the society as well, or their mentors. I'd also love to see what the two extraordinary children who weren't recruited think of what happened when the truth comes to light.

Group: Kate Wetherall/Martina Crowe (Mysterious Benedict Society TV)

These two are so cute together, and Martina's "you're my only real friend" thing is just… 😍. (Especially since Kate is a total ride-or-die person, too, and then helps her evade capture). I'd love to see them doing more tetherball together, or keeping in contact after the end of season 1. How do they talk about the whole "I accidentally got you hunted down by the school's security" thing?

Group: Number Two & Rhonda Kazembe (Mysterious Benedict Society TV)

Rhonda and Number Two's relationship is so different from the books, and I really like how Number Two apologized in canon. How did they get to know each other? Is the fight in canon an outlier, or does something like it happen often? How do they navigate conflicts in their relationship?

Kate Wetherall (Mysterious Benedict Society TV)

Kate is an all-time fave for me. I love her tomboyish style in canon and how her issues were a little bit closer to the surface. How did she build the reeling function of her bucket? What did she do in the circus, and what was it like? (I'd love a comparison of the circus' different wagons based on that one line from Depends on the Wagon, or different acts she saw/helped with/performed in.) How do her relationships with Milligan or the rest of the society change over time?

Martina Crowe (Mysterious Benedict Society TV)

Martina is a show favorite of mine! I love her hyper-competitiveness, and I really liked how that kinda went off the rails near the end of the season when it was believed she had broken into the server room. I'd love to see more of her rise to her position in canon or where she went after the first season ended. Her dedication to her subjects would also make her a really great choice for an r/HobbyDrama post, either as subject or as the author of a very passionate post about tetherball!

Worldbuilding (Mysterious Benedict Society TV)

I'd love to see an exploration of how the world in the TV show differs from that of the book. How did Number Two and Rhonda find Mr. Benedict, since they seem to have met later? How do the early years Mr. Benedict and Dr. Curtain shared affect them? The prevalence of water polo and tetherball in-universe could also be fun to talk about.

How does the Institute work? What is the homework like? (I'd love to see an assignment filled out by a member of the Society, especially one of the girls in contrast to one of the boys.) How do students normally get enrolled? Does the Institute not abduct students, or did the main characters simply not notice?

I'd also love to see the progress of the Emergency, and the messy process of reversing it after Season 1. Did anyone other than Mr. Benedict and his allies know what was going on? How does the revelation of the Emergency affect society as a whole?

Murdle - G. T. Karber

Audio and/or Visual - Any Visual Media Type, Crafts and Games - Cross Stitch/Embroidery Pattern, Crafts and Games - Tarot Card(s) design, In-Universe Professional and Academic Documents - Investigative Report, In-Universe Professional and Academic Documents - Skippy's List/Increasingly Specific Rules, In-Universe Social Media and Communication - r/RelationshipAdvice thread (reddit), Style - Interactive Fiction, Style - Non-Linear Narrative, Style - Spreadsheet, Style - Unreliable Narrator

This is a very fun game, and I'd love to see a bit more of its world! How did Logico and Irratino get to be where they are? How does a lawyer qualify as a murder weapon rather than a suspect? How are some of the clues (I'm thinking of the "a Taurus wielded the poison"-type clues in particular) discovered? What are the broader implications of the innocent always telling the truth and the guilty always lying?

I also really like the spinoff game Marot, and would be interested in both more card interpretations for that or actual tarot cards for the canon.

Any Murdle Suspect

I love all the different suspects, and would love to see any of them explored in more depth! How do they keep getting involved in murder investigations? (And how do the ones who commit murder and get convicted get released so quickly?) What are their relationships with each other like? What about with Logico and Irratino? If I had to pick favorites, I would pick Dr. Crimson, Mx. Tangerine, or Father Mango.

Deductive Logico

The bushy-eyebrowed man himself! I love his dedication to solving murders via logic puzzle. How did he become a detective, and where did he get his dedication to logic from? Are his methods considered normal in the Murdle world, or is he a bit of a weirdo?

Group: Deductive Logico/Inspector Irratino

Man, I love these two together. Their rivalry is excellent, but I also love their less antagonistic moments. Irratino may read the marot with Logico's cards, but I like to think that star sign being on the cards is a result of Irratino. And what is that whole "Irratino faking his death every week" business really all about? (A role reversal of that, of Logico trying to disprove Irratino's methods via faking his death, could also be fun.)

Inspector Irratino

Irratino is also great! I love his antagonistic comments when Logico needs a hint. Are his powers real, or is his information found through other means? How does his connection with the spirits work? Why does he fake his death each week?

Hello Worldbuilder! I go by [archiveofourown.org profile] Brachylagus_fandom on AO3. I've provided some prompts below, but if you have a different idea, please go for it; I'm excited to see what you'll create for me. Fandoms are listed in the order they appear in the tagset, and tags are listed alphabetically within their fandoms; I've requested Any or No Characters and Original Character(s) and fic/art/meta for all of them

Do Not Wants: explicit sex or gore (fade to black okay), animal cruelty

Likes:

  • Mystery/intrigue, casefic
  • Missing scenes and alternate perspectives
  • Crack, particularly crack treated seriously
  • Hurt/comfort
  • Fluff
  • Hijinks
  • Music

Worldbuilding-Specific Likes:

  • Logistics - how does stuff get made? How is it moved?
  • History and its relation to the present
  • Period-appropriate details, esp. in clothing
  • Science and scientific approaches to magic
  • Things that did happen in canon but were only referenced
  • Tech - what's standard, what's cutting edge, how it works. Blueprints always welcome.
  • Cultural attitudes around queerness, race, education, or any other issue

In-Universe Meta Likes:

  • Bureaucracy/paperwork
  • Outsider POV/Descriptions of canon events from dramatically different perspective
  •  Noodle incidents, either explained or created by the meta

Hello, writer! I go by [archiveofourown.org profile] Brachylagus_fandom on AO3, and I'm excited to see what you'll create for me. Please take the following prompts as suggestions; if you have a totally different idea that doesn't go against my DNWs, go for it! Also, feel free to include only one of the requested characters rather than all of them.

DNWs:

  • Smut (fade-to-black is fine!)
  • Gore
  • Animal cruelty

Likes:

  • Worldbuilding - how did canon get to be the way it is? how do the nitty gritty parts of it work?
  • Crack, especially crack treated seriously
  • Characters being competent in their area of expertise
  • Mystery/intrigue
  • Casefic
  • Missing scenes
  • Hurt/comfort
  • Fluff
  • Hijinks
  • Canon divergence AUs! How does shifting one thing change everything around it?

Mesopotamian RPF - Ea-Nasir

I am a simple person of simple tastes. Spin me a tale of Ea-Nasir and his shitty, shitty copper. Feel free to make it the lot he sold Nanni or someone else (cross over with other mesopotamian tablets, like "the sesame is literally dying" or "take all your flaxen shawls or I will donate them to the moon goddess" if you want!), have him working alone or with co-conspirators. Also feel free to set it in any time and place you like if ancient Mesopotamia isn't your thing; perhaps he is a Blackadder sort of figure conning people throughout the generations?

Magic School Bus & Magic School Bus Rides Again (Cartoons 1994-2018) - Valerie Frizzle

This is a massive nostalgia canon for me! I love the class's wacky adventures (and would love to see more of them - feel free to exposit on the topic of your choice!), but I'm also interested in backstory for the Frizz. How did she create/find the bus and Liz? How did she decide she wanted to become a teacher, and what sort of adventures did she have along the way? I'm also curious how she went from elementary student to professor, and if she does the same thing with her college students. (One day, lecture hall, next day - Mesozoic era!) I'd also love to see her interacting with her students, either from the show or other classes.

Murder She Wrote - Jessica Fletcher, Michael Haggerty

This show is a great cozy mystery series. I love the neatness of most of the plots and how, if you looked back, you could actually see whatever Jessica's clues were; it generally felt like you had all the tools to solve the mystery during the episode (and I actually managed to guess the twist on occasion, which always felt nice).

Jessica Fletcher - She's smart and resourceful, and she doesn't take shit from anyone, which I admire. I'd love to see anything with her, from a quiet week in Cabot Cove to visiting her nieces and nephews to solving another murder.

  • Other cases Jess has solved over the years - what are they? how did she get involved?
  • Jess as an author - what's her writing process like? Have there been any other… creative adaptations of her works?
  • Or Jess pre-canon! I'd love to see Jess as a teacher or her relationship with Frank. Has she always been a body magnet or did that develop over time? A look at her relationship with Grady or another one of her many nieces and nephews over time would also be a lot of fun.

Michael Haggerty - I'm a huge fan of spy tropes, and he certainly delivers! I'd love to see more of his adventures over the years (intersecting with Jess or not). How did he get into the spy business in the first place?

Mysterious Benedict Society - Trenton Lee Stewart - Kate Wetherall, Worldbuilding

A major childhood nostalgia canon for me! I really enjoy the puzzles in the books, and they really captured the experience of being a smart kid for me. Requests here overlap somewhat with my requests for the TV adaptation below; feel free to use show prompts for book-universe fic and vice versa.

Kate Wetherall - My all-time fave! I love her optimism and the abandonment/self-sufficiency issues that lurk underneath it in the first book, and I strongly envy her spatial sense. I love her relationship with the rest of the Society and with Milligan, and would love to see more of either of those, either during canon itself or after Prisoner's Dilemma/Riddle of Ages.

Pre-canon - Kate literally having run away to join the circus is so funny to me, and I love Moocho when he appears in Perilous Journey. Perhaps more connection with old friends or adventures of the (little) Great Kate Weather Machine? I'd love to see the development of her bucket, too, and where/when she sourced the contents.

Worldbuilding

  • Backstories of various characters - Mr. Benedict recruiting Number Two and Rhonda, Milligan pre-brainsweeping, Kate's time at the circus, how the various Helpers came to the island, etc.
  • The science (well, "science") and tech in the books - how was the Whisperer developed? the Brainsweeper? The Recruiter's/Ten Men's tech? How do they work?
  • I'd love to see the early days of Curtain's plotting, with the Emergency just begun. How did his plans shift over the years? Did anything go seriously wrong? (The inspection of LIVE, which is a total deathtrap, would also be a lot of fun.)

Mysterious Benedict Society (TV) - Kate, Martina, Worldbuilding

Visually gorgeous, nice sense of atmosphere, and I love the emphasis on the adults in comparison to the books. Distinct but overlapping with the requests for the books above; feel free to use book prompts for show-based fic and vice versa.

Kate Wetherall - My all-time fave! She's a bit less cheerful and more reckless in the show in comparison to the books, and I'd love to see how those changes came about and how they affect her relationships with the rest of the Society. The testing subplot (and, for a different variety of angst, the server room mission) also brought about a lot of angst, and I'd love to see that explored in more depth.

Martina Crowe - I did not go into the show expecting Martina Crowe redemption, but it was excellent. She's still got a nasty edge (which I love!), but the server room plot brought out a lot of vulnerability, and I'd love to see that explored. I'd also really like to see her playing/watching tetherball - how did she become interested in the sport? What Opinions (and I'm sure she has some that fully earn that capital O) does she have on it/popular players? How did she come to be at LIVE? When/how did she become a Messenger?

Kate/Martina - tetherball girlfriends! Again, was not anticipating coming out of the show shipping this, but I really did. When Martina trusts, she trusts hard (and Kate often does the same - I'd love to see a "not attached, not attached… shit" plot from her perspective), and the "you're my only friend" aspect was really compelling. And the rescue at the end! I'd love to see their relationship post-canon, or perhaps an AU where Martina was a member of the society. (On a much sillier note, that tumblr post about silly nicknames - I'd love some fluff where Kate is the Great Weather Machine to Martina's Empress of the Flaming Backhand.)

Worldbuilding

  • I'd love to see more of the backstories the show's altered: how did Mr. Benedict find Rhonda and Number Two in this version where they met as adults? What are the other exceptional children's lives like?
  • Life at LIVE - the show really emphasized the high-pressure, culty nature of the school, and I'd love to see that explored more.
  • Long term effects of the Whisperer - the show also leaned really nicely into the mind control/lovebombing aspect of the Whisperer, and I'm curious what the effect of regular exposure to it over the course of months or years would do to someone.

Hello creator!

I'm excited to see what you'll make for me. My AO3 username is [archiveofourown.org profile] Brachylagus_fandom. I tried to give 3-5 prompts per character (though the worldbuilding tags, especally WB:Any, tend to go over); feel free to use or ignore them as you please. Fandoms are listed in order they appear in the tagset; I've also posted promos of
39 Clues, H.I.V.E., Honor Harrington, and Mysterious Benedict Society to the comm.

DNWs

  • porn
  • incest (shared grandparents or closer)
  • gore (canon-typical violence is fine, but keep injury descriptions minimally graphic)
  • animal cruelty
  • change of setting AUs (e.g., coffee shop/pirate/high school AU - canon divergence AUs fine)

Likes

  • Worldbuilding - how did canon get to be the way it is? how do the nitty gritty parts of it work?
  • Crack, especially crack treated seriously
  • Characters being competent in their area of expertise
  • Mystery/intrigue
  • Missing scenes
  • Hurt/comfort
  • Fluff
  • Hijinks
  • Little details of canon

Likes for Medium Opt-Ins Requested in Multiple Fandoms

  • In-Universe Documents (what in WorldbuildingEx would be termed "In-Universe Meta") - a great medium for worldbuilding-focused works! I love all forms of these, especially documents that peer into areas of canon that are more in the background. I'm most familiar with prompting for this type of medium thanks to WorldbuildingEx, so there are more specific prompts for this category than the others in the individual fandom sections.
  • Conspiracy Board (requested for fandoms other than Mysterious Benedict Society) - I'm looking for outsider perspective with this. Characters not in the know can make Very Reasonable Assumptions about what's going on with the main characters, but that doesn't mean those assumptions are anywhere close to right. Maybe a mix of accuracy and wild misses?
  • List of things (character) is not allowed to do - a perfect excuse for comedy! Many of these characters are teenagers, a population well known for making bad decisions, and I'd love to see their (canonical or not) poor choices dragged out in listicle format. (As for Honorverse - I'd love to see the things they got up to as teens/young adults at the academy or the choices they've made since get discussed, because while their bad ideas have gotten more sophisticated they've also not gotten any less terrible.)
  • Poetry (requested for fandoms other than H.I.V.E.) - I love poetry because it can establish very specific moods with very few words.
  • Art in general - I love seeing different styles of art and how other people visualize things! In terms of specific likes, I tend to prefer stylized (e.g., art deco, pixel art, medieval-style paintings) over realistic art styles and pieces with a clear sense of ~aesthetic.
  • Comics - I like comics of all types - short, sweet scenes and faster, action-focused ones and simple visual gags.
  • A Softer World-style panels/art - I think that the a softer world format is great for a gut punch, and have no preference of pre-existing comics with selected panels versus words of your own or art drawn by you versus official art (which I'm counting the Mysterious Benedict Society adaptation as)/public domain images.
  • Fic/Comic/Fanart of My Fic (requested for fandoms other than Mysterious Benedict Society) - Honestly, I'm just curious to see how other people interact with/interpret things I've created. Any works under my name on AO3 are fair game; any art or fic opt ins that apply to your idea are fine. I have five works for H.I.V.E. under my main pseud here; two for 39 clues under the pseud Merry Madrigal here; and one for Honor Harrington under the pseud Plotbunny_Junction here.
